I
enjoy making wallpapers and graphics, vidding, chatting. I'm normally
always around on yim or in Jackfic chat. |
| Why
SG1? |
Jack
and Daniel. *g* Team interactions and friendships. The adventures, the
characters, the mythology. And Jack. |
| Why
VS9? |
Dee...she
signed me up without me knowing what was going on! *g* But after my
exams got in the way, I swapped from being a possible writer to helping
out with all the graphics. |

Art,
vidding (although I don't have much time for it these days), reading
fanfic, and the occasional bit of writing. |
| Why
SG1? |
I've
always been a SCI-FI fan but when I first heard that Stargate was going
onto the small screen, I never thought they'd pull it off because of
all the special effects we'd seen in themovie. I gave it a shot mainly
because RDA was in the lead role, and to see how they'd live up to the
movie. After watching the first episode I thought, Wow! I eagerly awaited
the next episode, and it has been like that ever since. Watching the
characters and storylines develop over the years has been a great ride. |
| Why
VS9? |
I
thought the VS9 was a great idea and was happy to be invited to be a
part of it. |

I
love to write and read gen fanfic. I also love to watch the show-- or
I did. In light of the fact that S9 will be Jack-less (with the exception
of a couple of RDA appearances), I will most likely be otherwise occupied
on Friday evenings. I'm a member of several lists, but mostly lurk on
all but a few of them. Oh, and I love(d) to read spoilers. <g>
|
| Why
SG1? |
While
I do enjoy Stargate for the action, the adventure, the team dynamics,
etc., etc., I mostly enjoyed Stargate because of Jack O'Neill. For me,
Stargate isn't jack without Jack. |
| Why
VS9? |
I
was approached several months ago about the possibility of a VS9 and
was asked if I would consider contributing an episode. I said 'yes'
mainly because VS9 was going where I wished the show could go: with
Jack in charge and the remaining members of SG-1 intact. |

Mainly
I enjoy writing and beta-ing for my friends at Jackfic. I love the Jackfic
group, too. |
| Why
SG1? |
I've
always loved science fiction and was a fan of RDA way back when he had
a head full of hair and a pocket full of duct tape on MacGyver. Jack's
sense of humor reminds me of my husband, too. I also love thudding myself
silly gazing at new pics and wallpapers of Jack. But I have met some
of the most wonderful, caring, and talented people while playing with
Jack and his kids. |
| Why
VS9? |
I
was asked to join by Hoo, which surprised me because I wasn't sure I
was in the same league as the rest of the writers. But if figured, what
the hey, and decided to join up before they changed their minds. For
some reason, I volunteered to help do the first two episodes <bangs
head on desk> and another one much later in the season. On the pro
side, it has helped me to grow in my writing skills, as I want to continue
this hobby of mine. |

Honestly,
I'm a big of a recluse in the fandom. I don't talk with very many others
and only infrequently. I'd like to change that sometime. Occasionally,
I'll slip into icon-making or wallpapers, but it's really not my first
choice. |
| Why
SG1? |
The
dynamic of the team is brilliant, and still leaves a lot to be explored
outside of the show. Given my overactive imagination, Stargate allows
it much more free rein than any Earth-bound fandoms can allow. |
| Why
VS9? |
I
was coerced into joining VS9 because Tricia can't do anything without
me! Heh. Not true, really. But we find each other as excellent sounding
boards and find that in the end, it would just be easier to list me
as co-author rather than in a dedication. |

I
don't have a personal website (at least not one that I update often
enough to be willing to post a URL for!). So far, ALL my fanfiction
(1 vignette, my Jackfic-a-thon story, and some assorted drabbles) is
hosted at Jackfic.com (thanks Arnise!) which is also where I hang out
most. |
| Fandom
Activities: |
I
love the chatter on Jackfic, of course. It's a challenge to find a group
that encompasses the lovely insanity of fandom, while still maintaining
the necessary sanity of grace, good manners, and "netiquette"
that keep a community a nice place to visit. I've been very lucky to
find such a place Other than that, I mostly read. And read. And read.
But I've been really trying to stretch my writing wings as well. |
| Why
SG1? |
I've
always loved good science fiction. I grew up with it, being an original
Trekkie. Package thoughtfully written plots with well-rounded characters
written in such a way that you come to care about them, add just enough
special effects to give it a WOW! without detracting from the real story,
and you've got me hooked every week. And the eye candy doesn't hurt,
either! <vbeg> |
| Why
VS9? |
If
you want me to get something done, you better give me a deadline. I've
been that way since elementary school. I found out from Jackfic-a-thon
that the same thing holds true for writing fanfiction. That experience
was so much fun, and it was such a rush to actually *finish* a fic and
get it out there, that when I got the invitation to join VS9, I didn't
think a moment about it. |

I'm
a long-time member of the WWW club--weading, writing, and whumping. |
| Why
SG1? |
I
took my first step through the Gate because I had heard a rumor that
RDA was in this new Sci-fi series. Frankly, the first scene of CotG
nearly scared me off as the serpent guard came through the wormhole
and nabbed the soldier. Ah, but then there followed the rooftop scene
at O'Neill's house and I was hooked. While I will always be a fan of
Jack O'neill and his irreverent humor, I have come to love the entire
team interacting as a strong unit where each member is valued for the
unique strengths and talents they possess. Overall, I enjoy Stargate
because of the depth of, not only the primary but also the secondary
characters. |
| Why
VS9? |
I
abhor change. Thank goodness for the world of Fanfic where I can ignore
facts and lose myself in the wonderful world of illusion (or perhaps
delusion). In the wonderful world according to Gallagater favorite actors
don't leave favorite shows. Thus began a seed, or perhaps a weed, which
sprouted and became the Garden of VS9, of which I was delighted to be
asked to be one of the gardeners. It has been a true delight being a
small part of this project. |

creating fan fiction, music videos, and web sites. The best place on
the web to hang out is the Jackfic Yahoo Mailing Group. I also love
the Kawoosh Vidmaker's Forum. |
| Why
SG1? |
My
love of Stargate began with the movie. What a perfect scifi set up the
Stargate made! Although I couldn't quite picture MacGyver as Jack O'Neill,
when I saw Children of the Gods premiere on Showtime , RDA won me over.
I've been hooked ever since. I didn't write my first fan fic until after
Tangent aired. The kind folks at Jackfic introduced me to the fandom
proper and I never looked back. I've always been a scifi fan but Stargate
SG1 is truly an obsession. |
| Why
VS9? |
Jack
O'Neill is my favorite character and the prospect of RDA's absence next
season looms large. I wish him all the best, of course, and I'm truly
grateful for the time he's given to Stargate. I am pleased Stargate
SG1 will continue and I will be eagerly awaiting the new tales of adventure
as the "real" ninth season begins this summer. However, a
big part of me just isn't ready to let go of General Jack O'Neill so
when Arnise, THE "Jackfic Mum" and co-creator of Jackfic.com
came up with the idea for a virtual season, I was ready to sign on!
Little did I know what I was in for at the time... |

Writing
and reading fanfic, though I'd like to get into some of the chats eventually
(if RL will ever slow down enough to allow it!). |
| Why
SG1? |
I
totally love that the very concept of the show lends itself to such
a wealth of story possibilities. But if I'm honest? A certain silver-haired
AF general is what keeps me coming back for more. I love that the
character is so three-dimensional--a strong, lovable hero, but with
definite faults. And well, yeah, he's extremely easy on the eyes,
too! <vbg> |
| Why
VS9? |
I
was rather stunned when I received an invitation to take part in this
project. I was--and still am--very honored and humbled to be included
in such a heady group of talented Jack fans! Admittedly, it probably
has more than a little something to do with me being totally insane...

I'm
not as active in the fandom as I was.....in fact I haven't written for
ages. I do still read fics that catch my eye. |
| Why
SG1? |
Basically
I loved the film. I ws an immediate Daniel Jackson fan, so was delighted
when I heard about a series was coming. I was very disappointed that
James Spader's character was to be taken over by someone I'd never heard
of. However, that disappointment was lifted about 37 stories when I
heard Richard Dean Anderson would take over from Kurt Russell as Jack
O'Neill. I loved the series from day one.....and even the new Jackson
guy was okay, so added bonus there too. |
| Why
VS9? |
Because
in fanfiction, the only seeing you do is with your mind's eye. As long
as we have that, Jack O'Neill lives on. |

Writing,
artwork, web design, vidding. |
| Why
SG1? |
When
I first started watching Stargate I had been only a Star Trek and
Star Wars kind of fan. I'd read and enjoyed some of the "top"
science fiction authors, but I could never find something on television
that came remotely close to either of those shows, providing a mythic
scope to the genre that I'd enjoyed previously through the aforementioned
series and novels.
But Stargate was different.
The movie intrigued me and
when the series began on television with the star of MacGyver I had
to try it out. It hooked me from the first because it gave me something
that the current scifi world was not providing. A mythic landscape.
A multitude of possibilities and worlds and options. Characters that
were more than one-dimensional. Characters that you could care about,
that you were interested inlearning more about and spending more time
with. The first season, granted, was rocky, but there were some gems
there--diamonds in the rough so to speak--that provided a foundation
for the series to grow. And it has. |
| Why
VS9? |
Ever
since the first show, I've been a fan of the character of Jack O'Neill.
When news came of Richard Dean Anderson's departure from the series,
I was disappointed. There was so much more for that character to see
and do. I discovered there was more than one person who thought the
same way. Apparently, I'm not the only crazy Jack O'Neill fan out there.
And, because I can never do things partway, I dove in head-first becoming
one of the group's moderators, a "mother hen", and a cheerleader
all wrapped into one. |

enjoy writing, vidding, chatting, participating in groups, etc. Favorite
activity? Definitely writing. Chattting, getting together with groups
of fans and just talking about everything and anything... the occasional
wallpaper oricon (though I'm not very good). Anything fun and inviting. |
| Why
SG1? |
There's
a wonderful team dynamic to the show that got me interested from the
get go. Given my shippy heart, the Jack/Sam dynamic only intensified
my interest and then Jack himself... I mean who COULDN'T drool over
that man... what was the question again? |
| Why
VS9? |
I
have this VERY good friend, you see, and she has this way of getting
me to agree to just about anything... even before I know exactly what
is involved.. well, it's all her fault. |
